I’m drawn to short stories that reveal the quiet truths about human nature, and The Necklace is one of those that lingers with me. It’s not just about vanity or pride—it’s about the weight we give to appearances, and how chasing an ideal can cost more than we imagine. I like how it doesn’t soften the blow; instead, it leaves you with that sharp sting of reality. The ending is the kind I prefer—unforgiving, thought-provoking, and impossible to forget.

Reading The Necklace felt like watching a slow, beautiful tragedy unfold. I didn’t just get a twist ending — I got a gut-punch that stayed with me long after I’d closed the book.
