A lonely house. A raging storm. A night of terror.

When a woman returns home on a stormy night, she finds her husband missing and something far more sinister waiting in the shadows. As the wind howls and the rain pounds, she realizes she is not alone—and the real nightmare is just beginning.

I like stories that make the setting feel alive, almost as if it’s breathing down your neck, and The Storm did that for me. It’s not just rain and thunder—it’s the way the weather mirrors the unease between the characters, wrapping everything in a thick layer of tension. I’m drawn to fiction where danger doesn’t shout, it whispers, and where you can sense something is wrong without anyone saying it out loud.

This story reminded me why I enjoy atmospheric writing so much—the kind where you feel like you’re in the room, hearing the wind rattle the windows, waiting for the next moment to break.
